Adapter on the nozzle. Tip on the adapter.
The Rivet Sealer adapter snaps onto the end of a standard heat gun and holds a 100% virgin Teflon™ tip. The gun supplies the heat; the adapter carries it to the tip, so you can heat and press each rivet at the same time.
We recommend the Wagner HT1000. The Wagner HT3500 works too.

-
01
Start cold and unpluggedBegin with the heat gun switched off, unplugged and completely cool. Never fit or remove the adapter on a hot gun.
-
02
Pick and fit the tipChoose the 100% virgin Teflon™ tip that matches the rivet head. Seat it squarely in the top of the adapter so it sits flat and doesn't rock.
-
03
Snap the adapter onto the nozzlePush the adapter straight onto the end of the heat gun nozzle until it snaps into place. It should sit square on the nozzle with no wobble.
-
04
Heat up and testPlug in and switch on. Let the tip come up to temperature (360–410°F at the tip), then test on a scrap of the same film before you touch the vehicle.
-
05
Seal, one second per rivetPerforate first, then press the tip straight onto each rivet with light pressure for about one second. Keep the tip moving between rivets; don't park it on the film.
-
06
Shut down and cool
Switch off and unplug whenever you stop. Hang the gun or stand it on a heat-safe surface, and let the adapter and tip cool completely before you touch them, change tips or pack up.
Burns and fire: the two big risks.
The Rivet Sealer works because it gets hot. Treat the heat gun, adapter and tip like any hot tool: hands off the hot end, and never leave it running.
- The tip, adapter and heat gun nozzle get extremely hot. The tip runs at 360–410°F and the nozzle is hotter.
- Never grab, touch or adjust the tip, adapter or nozzle while the gun is on or cooling down.
- They stay hot for several minutes after you switch off. Let everything cool completely before handling.
- Keep the hot end pointed away from your body, other people and pets.
- Never leave the heat gun switched on and unattended, even for a moment.
- Never set a hot or running gun down on vinyl, paper, cardboard, rags, a vehicle seat or anything that can burn. Hang it or stand it upright on a heat-safe surface.
- Switch off and unplug every time you step away, between jobs and at the end of the day.
- Keep the work area clear of flammable liquids, solvents and their vapors, and keep a fire extinguisher within reach.
- Only fit or remove the adapter and tips with the gun switched off, unplugged and cool.
- Don't block the air intake vents on the heat gun while it's running.
- Read and follow all of Wagner's instructions and warnings for your heat gun, in addition to ours.
- Too much heat or holding the tip too long can burn, discolor or distort vinyl. Test on scrap first.
Match the tip, then seal.
